Welcome to Tutor Time Childcare in Shelton!
Values We All Share
Whether you’re a new parent, a seasoned mom or dad, or one that’s looking to give your child a jump-start for the future, we know what you’re going through. Finding a childcare environment that is best for your child and also gives you peace of mind is one of the most important and challenging decisions you’ll ever make. Who will be with my child? Are the surroundings safe? Will they accommodate my schedule? What sort of education do they offer?
What We Believe
We understand your concerns. We’re parents, too. In fact, our philosophy begins with the very finest preschool educational practices and grows from there. We believe great things happen by giving exceptional attention to every aspect of the childcare experience from the child’s daily activities to the caregivers, policies and the facility itself.
What We Do
Children are eager to explore their world. That’s why we create a safe, caring and enriching childcare environment where they can learn, develop and always feel comfortable. We work with you to build a
foundation that ensures your child is as happy as he is successful so that our childcare center becomes like an extension of your family.
We do this by creating pre-school programs and curriculum that let them laugh and play while challenging their thinking to stimulate growth and development. We believe that children are smart in many ways. Our unique LifeSmart® and StartSmart® pre-school curriculum make Tutor Time Child Care in Shelton the ideal place for your child to learn and grow. At the same time, we embrace your child’s individuality while instilling respect for the diversity that surrounds us.
Our Doors are Open
Trust is earned, not simply accepted and our website is the perfect place to start. Playground
Outdoor play enables young children to learn an abundant amount of things about the world. How do plants grow? How do I make my tricycle go faster? What does a chrysalis change into? Do butterflies have to learn to fly? Much of what a child learns can be learned through a variety of ways, but learning it outside is particularly effective, and certainly a lot of fun!
Our exciting soft surface playground with fun learning stations, encourage imaginative play and extends our curriculum to the outdoors. In our outdoor playgrounds children can learn math, science, ecology, gardening, vocabulary, the seasons, the various times of day and all about the different types of weather. Not only do children learn a lot of basic and fundamental information about the way the world works in a hands-on manner, they are more likely to remember what they learned because it was concrete and personally meaningful. Outdoor play also fulfills basic childhood needs such as jumping, running, climbing, racing, yelling, rolling, riding, and exploring. It also fulfills children’s basic needs for freedom, adventure, experimentation.
Our outdoor spaces are an extension of the classroom, where learning continues to occur. Our program addresses the child as a whole; physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially.
Our teachers who understand children’s developmental needs and who recognize their curiosities offer many opportunities for children to learn about themselves, each other, and their environment. Our teachers include planned activities, as well as let ideas emerge from interactions that occur while outside. They use the outdoors effectively as a learning space by preparing it to maximize learning opportunities.
